07 Brendon Goh Chapter 4 blog question

The 1st chapter, I learn that we must cherish every day of our lives. Be grateful for everything that comes your way and thank them for it. Enjoy your life and accomplish as much as you can in life, and live each day like it is your last day, and you will do a whole lot more things in a single day itself, as there is so much things a person want to achieve in life.

The 2nd chapter, I learn to let go about sad and angry things that happen in life. Things may not always go the way you want it, and we will feel angry or sad. We must learn to let go and forget about these things or events, and get on with life. Focus on your future and not dwell about the past.

The 3rd chapter, I learnt that there will be a lot of problems with life, and we must face it with courage. We must all be strong and face up to our problems and do not be scared or afraid. Persevere on to try and find a way to resolve it, if you don’t you are fighting a loosing battle, never ever give up!

The 4th chapter, I learnt that we must be responsible for our actions and face up to reality. Don’t keep on denying the fact that something has happened and it is not real when in fact it is real. We must all learn to slowly accept the truth.

For the 5th chapter, I learn that every single one of us can make a difference, just like being kind, of helpful, or friendly. It will spark a set of chain reactions, and people will help spread the virtue to people all over the world. It is a very good thing to do, and the correct thing to do as well. We can all do our part to help the world become a better place, by educating everyone in the world to have great virtues.

For the 6th chapter, I learn that sooner or later, our family members, loved ones will leave us, and we must learn to accept and cope with their farewell. We will remember the good and happy times we had with that person, but then we must learn to forget and let go about it and focus on whats coming your way in life, the future. We must learn to control our emotions, and also cope with the loss of that person.

For the 7th chapter, I learn that there are many people among us that we do not know might have family problems, learning problems, special problems that are odd and not everyone will have or experience. So for this group of people, we must identify them and help them to lead a normal life, don’t let them go down the wrong path in life. Council them, talk to them and try many different methods to console them. Be a listening ear to them, let them know that you are a friend of theirs, and slowly, they will heed to your advice. When we spot anyone suddenly changing behavior, something is not right. Behaviors don not change overnight and so abruptly, and something is so wrong, and people around him or her should take action immediately.

For the 8th chapter, I learnt that there are some things in life that we cannot escape, like natural disasters, It will bring harm to our loved ones, family members and friends, so everyone should be untied together. Flee from them, and go away together and not left anyone behind. Help each other to go through the aftermath of the event, and rebuild yourself. Things will be change, and you will be sad. But change yourself to become a better person, and not keep on dwelling on the past, as the past cannot be changed, and natural disasters cannot be controlled.

  1. Thank you for your response to the question. You had some different answers from your classmates. For instance, with 'Broken Fences' most people talked about the guilt we feel when we are part of an accident in which a friend gets badly hurt and that we need to know that sometimes we can't keep habouring those feelings of guilt but learn from the accident and be a better person after that.

Your response to article 7 showed that you are a caring person. However, do remember that if people insist on going down the path of destruction, and you have tried your best to counsel them or warn them, you cannot do more because ultimately, it is the person's own choice to make and the responsibility for the consequences of that choice is not for you to bear.
