Extensive Reading Blog Question Chapter 2 - Hurting Myself (Izzat Syahmi)

How comfortable are you with yourself & how do ensure you do not hurt yourself?


I am mostly positive about myself. I try to keep to the brighter side of life and smile to spread the happiness. However, there are times when I feel stressed and I start feeling as if life is getting hard and think I couldn’t handle it anymore. I ensure I don’t go to the extreme and hurt myself by calming down and talking with my friends. When I talk with my friends, having a good laugh with them always seems to work and I start feeling better. In the end, we’ll be able to make it through, without doing anything reckless. I also appreciate everything I have and don’t ask for too much as I know that there are people who are less fortunate than me.

  1. You sound like you have a handle on life. I appreciate that you do not put yourself up like superman who can do everything and nothing stresses you but that you are trying your best to do what you can within your means.

    In terms of writing, you learn to start expanding your ideas. For example, you say you are mostly feeling positive about yourself. You could share why you always able to do that or even share what positive things do you see in yourself to make you have that attitude. Then you say you keep looking at the brighter side of life and smile to spread the happiness. One way of expanding these ideas is to explain why it is important to smile, why a smile is so effective, etc. You could also explain why you chose to use 'a smile' to impact other people's lives and not something else.
