Ch4 Blog Question by Chan Jia Ler

What can you learn or take away from each of the eight articles? Please consider information from the spotlight articles associated with the corresponding chapters.
To help you answer the above question, you could:
- pick out one or more things you think is important to help you be a better person or friend and elaborate on it.
- consider if there was anything to help you cope with losing someone/some people through death, through geographical distance, etc. Say why it is helpful.

I learnt from articles 1, 2 and 8 that we should always love our family members until the very end, as we do not know when or how something bad will happen to them, so we have to treasure every moment with them. From articles 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, I learnt that we should treasure our moments with our friends, and that we should treat ourselves as importantly, as we do not know whether if our friends will meet with tragedy or with terrible illnesses, we will be there for them. However, we also must not beat ourselves up should such tragedy happens to them. To cope with losing someone through geographical distance, we can always call them, chat with them online, and maybe visit them once a year. This is important because being separated will make your friend very lonely and out of place in a new area, and it is important that we can keep them company even if you are thousands of miles away from them.

  1. This is a succinct response to the blog question. You were indeed clever to group your responses for the various articles. However if you are to meet the target of 300-400 words for an essay, you would need to elaborate a bit more or draw out main lessons learnt from each chapter. The first part of your current answer would then be a useful introduction to the essay.
